I'm just not convinced with them at all. They've given up 3 leads in 6 games. They have 0 clean sheets. Mancini's tactics have been ripping my eyes out.

3 at the back is just a shitty, shitty idea.

I also don't see how Garcia, Rodwell or Sinclair did anything but create more confusion inside that squad. I don't think any of them improved the squad at all.

Garcia is good. Rodwell and Sinclair are fricking awful.

I don't think Toure will be ineffective by any stretch, but it seems his runs forward will be less effective this season. It seemed that whenever Mancini needed a goal last season, he would just unleash Toure forward. Seems teams are ready for that now (except Real Madrid of course, their defense is very mediocre).

Yaya Toure will be gone again for the Africa Cup this year. We have fricking Barry, Garcia, and Milner who all are pretty much exactly the same. Sinclair and Rodwell do nothing. Silva looks he's running on water out there, and Nasri is as inconsistent as 20legend's period.

Maicon on Ronaldo?? Seriously? Doesn't everyone remember when Rafa started Maicon against Bale in CONSECUTIVE fixtures? What a baffling start from the Italian.

Yeah, the thinking that Maicon's attacking threat will compensate/keep CR7 honest is only as good as the equation:
Maicon's attacking threat = Ronaldo's attacking threat

I think I recall the Dutch trying this formula when CR7 punished them in Euros as well?

God only knows why they bought Rodwell and Sinclair? Maybe it's an quota issue? Or maybe Dagliesh convinced them English players will play with more heart?

I think Garcia can work out for them but it seems he was also down their list after they missed on De Rossi et al for a defensive mid with playmaking potential.

I think the idea to move to 3-5-2 is a good one in theory (especially with an eye on being a true force in Europe) but I'm not sure the current roster is all that well suited to it. There are some players at least that just aren't getting it all.

I don't follow City closely enough to know the insider's scoop on their transfer market but, from a outside view, I don't think it was Mancini really pulling the strings on the players they ended with. Seems more like a matter of " I want De Rossi" being answered with "have you heard of Rodwell, the English De Rossi?"

With City's current roster, they would be more suited for a 4-2-4.

Bump for the disaster they had today.

Glad I decided to FFW it rather than watch all of it...
