If I were to find myself wanting to watch soccer

What team would be the best team to become a fan of? All I know is USA because we're the best country and all the other countries aren't as good.

Obviously USA is the only choice. After that, Brazil is fun to watch, and Argentina should be too. Spain is the world number 1 right now but other than their most recent game, I wouldn't say call them enjoyable to watch.
I prefer Holland after USA.
Now club?
Germany and England have great club teams. I prefer Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga(German league) and Manchester City in the English Premier League.
Your best option is to watch soccer, and a lot of it. A team will kind of select you.
Don't pick Liverpool, Arsenal, or Manchester United. Under any circumstances.

I only watched one soccer game. It was man u vs Chelsea (sp?). A foreign dude made me watch it since we made him watch so much real football. Are the games always that slow paced? Or should I call them matches?

Yeah, you should call them matches. Chelsea plays pretty defensive normally, so most are probably a little faster.
Give it a chance, watch Manchester City/United versus a small club and see if they open it up a little bit.
Or any Dortmund game.

matches and they're not slow its a tasteful build up that makes each goal more meaningful

Follow a club with an American on it. Right now the most famous is Dempsey and he plays for English club Fulham. They're shopping him around though so that might change.

The Euros (which just finished) would have been a great way to find some players you enjoy watching. That would give you an idea of some teams you might want to follow.
For me, World Cup 2002 was the first time I really watched a lot of soccer, and after that I started following various domestic clubs.
Be sure to follow the US on their WC qualifying campain over the next 2 years.

I would say 2-1 is a common score. There are draws and you'll have to accept that. So there are many 1-1, 2-2 draws, but most games are 1-0, 2-0, 2-1. Of course once a week you'll have a 4-0 or 4-1 beatdown, but those aren't too common.

Soccer football vs real football, which one has more strategy involved? Or is more complicated in the play I guess is what I'm asking. Not sure how to word this one.

Next time you watch american football stop and time how much dead time there is (time outs, commercial time outs, and time between plays). Soccer might seem slow paced to newcomers, but there is very little dead time compared to all other sports on TV.
It takes a while if you are new to the sport but if you gain an appreciation for the build up and a good sequence of passes you will enjoy the game much more.
IMO if you only consider goals exciting, then it will be tough to become a big fan of soccer. On the other hand I'm sure a Man U vs Chelsea match could be slow compared to other teams style.

The match I watched was boring until the end, they had to do penalty kicks I think it's called? The Swedish dude was going nuts about how exciting it was. It was cool.

I think soccer players have to have a better playing IQ. Most sports have their coaches in the players' ears non-stop and they execute specific plays. Whereas in soccer your team might have a general playing style (for example attack on the wings a cross the ball into the 18 mostly) but there is a whole lot more room for creativity in soccer.
I think every sport can become very in-depth in strategies, so I would find it hard to declare a clear cut winner for that.
