Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana are in CONCACAF?

How are these three countries in CONCACAF? They are literally on South American continent.

The South Americans probably didn't want their confederation to be watered down.

Not sure on the specifics, but it's not really too different from some of the Caribbean islands that are really close to the continent.

There's only 10 nations in CONMEBOL. There's 40 in CONCACAF.

Honestly have never realized that. Though, I probably should have been able to guess from the eight letter acronym.
Yeah, but it's easier to force them to play out of the Caribbean before playing anyone relevant in CONCACAF. CONMEBOL wouldn't really have that luxury.

The Confederations aren't 100% tied to their continents. Australia is in the Asian federation and Israel is in UEFA despite not being geographically part of those continents. Turkey and Russia have more land in Asia than Europe. Kazakhstan and maybe a few other former Soviet Republics swapped from AFC to UEFA.

That is weird and I didn't know that. I have actually been to Suriname, and it definitely had a more Caribbean feel. I also know they are in the Caribbean trade association.
Suriname has had a few players that have played on the Dutch national team.

Another fun fact: Bonaire, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, and Sint Maarten are part of CONCACAF, but aren't FIFA members.

I was doing a little bit of reading and it seems that the French Football Federation doesn't allow their overseas territories to become FIFA members. I guess that's a way they could get any talent from there to play for the French National Team.

Thierry Henry could have played for a couple of Caribbean teams. I doubt that he would have opted to do that though.

His father was born in Guadeloupe. Here is a list of some of their eligable players from wikipedia
