Since the two guys before me have to pick a GK, it seems like I could go ahead and make my pick.

Dang ... made a run to the store to pick up some milk, sardines, and broccoli so I could eat like a king this weekend and Mick still hasn't picked.

I'd like to take time to get the substitution rule cleared up. On the EPL site you order your subs in case your starter gets omitted. Obviously, the sub would have to fill a proper formation, but if we have 2 or 3 guys sit do we get subs in an order that we placed them? Can anyone advise me on this please?

TIA

I have no say but if I did, I would make us order the subs each week. If you have a player not play and sub #1 can be inserted and the formation still be good, then sub #1 comes in, if not go to #2, and so for. So if you have a 3-4-3 formation, with a FWD at sub #1, a mid at #2, and a DEF at #3 and one of your 3 defenders don't play, you can't substitute #1 or #2. Or if a MID doesn't play, you can't sub in another FWD and have four FWDs, so you'd have to sub in #2, the MID.

We did it where if your starter didn't play, a non-starter in that position was automatically subbed in his place.

ETA: Say you have four forwards and start three. The extra forward can only count if one of your starters don't play.

If you have six midfielders and start four...and one doesn't play, the sub you list first in your roster counts. If he doesn't play, then the second sub plays.

WSE's way was the way we did it last year, not the way I described. But no one listens to me anyway.

I think having four (or five, later) subs on the bench and the ability to use a max of three (in the right positions) makes more sense than picking only three subs before the day starts. More "realistic" when compared to the actual games.

But that's just me.

Right. I agree with that. I would like to only have 3 subs each week and having one inactive. I just think ordering them forces more strategy than just a straight position-for-position substitutions.

I am not sure if we have a clear cut answer on subs, but it sounds like you guys have it figured. I would like to put a cap at three subs, but you have to order them.

I'd like to clarify this ASAP. We need to figure it out and lay it out before the draft. Obviously keeper subs should be automatic if one doesn't play.

I will make an executive order soon.

I have done this whole draft through a phone. I will set everything up sometime in this upcoming week.

Does anything else need to be figured? Maybe waiver wire and supplemental draft need to be cleared up.
