Fair enough. I still find it farcical - and not just in this situation - that governing body-issued bans must be administered by the clubs.

You would think that UEFA, corrupt as frick they may be, would be able to keep track of suspensions they themselves have issued and prevent said players from even being on the bench.

This is not the first time this has happened. More scrutiny from above would prevent this. Yes, Legia by the letter of the law were out of line, but not a soul in their right mind would feel "good" about Celtic being allowed through in this competition after getting dry slammed by a Polish team.

The irritating thing is that the player in question should have been eligible, if not for a clerical error. He technically served his suspension, but some moron team administrative assistant didn't realize the player had to be registered for the games he was suspended.

And this clerical error went unnoticed amongst all the people who had to review it. The player then served his suspension by not playing in the previous round, and wasn't even used for but two meaningless minutes against Celtic.

What a colossal frick up.
