Why does that matter? If they had found someone who was dumb enough to take the job, then Gregg would not be the coach right now. The only reason he still has the job is because nobody worth a shite wants to coach the USMNT.
You are getting caught up in semantics. It's a silly argument to say "Hey wait a minute. He was NOT FIRED." That was not the point of the man's post. Replace "fired" with "temporarily removed" or whatever you like. The act of removing him, replacing with an interim coach, actively looking for and making offers for new coaches, and then reinstating him as coach, is unprecedented.

Agree. I took the post of “he was not fired” as an agreement to how inept USSF is. Just added to the discussion of how bad it is.
I didn’t think of it as an arguement. Just as a:
“And on top of that”. They didn’t fire him
