Anyone ever play on a "classic" (sp) team/league?

I remember as a kid going to a tournament in Texas or something as part of a rec league and we were watching a team play with kids our age (12) but they were part of a "classics"(or something) league.

These kids were doing trick shite that blew our minds at the time. Anyone ever heard of this type league?

It would be like the gifted and talented vs the regulars in quiz bowl.
