Good God Man U fans are so used to getting those stupid PK's called that now they think they are always penalties. GTFO you diving bitches.

ETA:FWIW Chelsea is better than Man U and it's not close right now.

Again let's look at the Laws of the Game.

quote:

A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any
of the following three offences:
• holds an opponent
• spits at an opponent
• handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own
penalty area)

There's nothing in the laws of the game about arms in an unnatural position. FIFA laws are quite vague. Constant commentary has made the "unnatural" position and "ball to hand" stipulations, despite nothing written in the rules.

Sorry dude, but you're flat out wrong here. It was incidental contact with the arm. That will never be called. Ever. Especially if its bouncing up from the ground 3 feet under him.

the unnatural position thing is something the pundits like to talk about and admittedly i fell into the trap...so disregard that.

there have been countless penalties given on crosses where the defender jumps with hands above head turns his back and the ball strikes their hand.

it's natural to lift your hands when trying to jump as high as possible, so they aren't deliberatelyhandling either. but its still a penalty

His arms were below his shoulders.

So let me get this straight.

You think that it is natural to jump directly up with your hands over your head?

The way handball is called is just overall fricked up. How many times can you honestly say without a doubt a handball was deliberate? Yet they call any kind of handball when it's outside the box, even when it's obviously ball to hand.

That was not a penalty though. Even if its not in the rulebook technically, I think refs will be more likely to give one if the guy's arms are in an unnatural position on a shot, but not when it just bounces up off the ground.

Whatevs dude. It isn't but I'm evidently not going to convince you if you see the actual rule written out and it still doesn't change your mind.
