quote:If he knows that teams from multiple leagues have put in offers for him, he can surely turn down the Bundesliga if he's rather go to Spain, England, Italy, etc (and the same goes for if there's multiple Bundesliga teams putting in offers). If no other clubs are putting in a competitive offer, then I don't see what your beef is.
The player always has final say
But I don’t see him turning down a move to the Bundesliga

Red Bull can still decline the offer even if MLS wants to sell
MLS getting in bed with them will let RB do whatever bc the league needs the money

yep, now MLS is a soulless corporate machine, which is RICH AS HELL coming from a United fan

United is a self marketing machine
It’s a bit different than being owned by an energy drink and using multiple clubs to expand the company empire

In other news the crown price of Saudi has paid for all the wages and transfer fees of all clubs in the league

DS is probably dying inside that he can't post in this thread right now.

Clubs decline offers all the time.....

I should have phrased it better.
MLS is certainly within their rights to sell Adams to whichever club offers the most (provided Adams agrees, of course). They could certainly accept a higher offer from a non-Red Bull affiliated club, but I certainly wouldn’t expect that to happen. Why would they piss off one of their bigger investors for a few extra million dollars? I’d be shocked if that happened.
If Leipzig wants him, that’s where he’ll transfer. Same for Jesse Marsch. It would be great to see an American coach in the Bundesliga, and Marsch is one of the best right now. Maybe he’ll start at Salzburg first.
And I disagree, SCH. I think Red Bull would sell the team for the right (high) price. It’s been rumored for a while. The new stadium, excellent academy setup, and massive media market in the NYC area would fetch the team a very high price on the market by MLS standards. Rocco Commisso wants a D1 team in New York, and that won’t be his Cosmos anytime soon. It wouldn’t surprise me if he eventually gets tired of suing the USSF and just buys NYRB to get what he wants. MLS would have to approve, of course, but money wouldn’t be an issue if Rocco ever decides to do that. He’s got billions.
For all the great stuff NYRB does on the field, they are cheapskates off the field, which is a big part of why NYCFC was born to better capture the NYC market. Red Bull barely spends any money marketing the team, even in Jersey. I think they would sell if the right buyer came along. Or maybe one day MLS will just buy the team (like Chivas USA) and sell it to someone else. We’ll see.

NYCFC is pretty much the same scenario as Red Bull with transfers
Already did with it with Jack Harrison
They turned down the Stoke offer just to sell him to the club that owns them.
