Doesn’t MLS have to approve transfers?
I’d call them shady, but hell, they sold Miazga outside of the Red Bull family.

no different than Leipzig getting Salzburg players, settle down

Just acting as a feeder club paying itself

The two clubs are owned by the same company
It’s basically an internal transfer as NY acting like a feeder club
This ant that hard to figure out

Is that a bad thing?
Posted on 5/20/18 at 8:07 pm to pvilleguru
Yes
Bc it gives a giant competitive advantage to Leipzig
I know it’s hard but use your brain and actually think about it

It’s no different than when Watford got all those players from Udinese

you need to calm down, Captain Hyperbole

And if it is a "giant competitive advantage", then I hope more companies pump a ton of money into MLS teams to use this advantage for themselves.

The point if Leipzig wants a player other clubs are in for they will get them. They were not in for Matt

Clubs owning other clubs and companies owning multiple clubs is what is wrong with modern football.
Other than the two NY clubs and Bob Kraft, the rest of the ownership groups are just fine

Pretty sure MLS has final say in the transfer. If another team swoops in and offers considerably more for Adams, they could theoretically pull a fast one on Leipzig, but I highly doubt that’ll happen. It would destabilize the relationship between the sister clubs and Red Bull would be pissed. Not to mention, Jesse Marsch is currently rumored to be highly considered as Leipzig’s next coach.
Eventually, the relationship between New York and Red Bull will end, but we’re not there yet. Probably not for a while.

If MLS agrees it’s a fair market value there is nothing they can do to stop the transfer

No chance that’s every going to happen, they literally funded their ground and are there for marketing.

MLS wouldn’t have made it if the Hunts didn’t own multiple clubs

The player always has final say
But I don’t see him turning down a move to the Bundesliga

Good thing we are past MLS 1.0 which was basically a novelty league that made shite up on the fly
