I'd prefer Opare to Boswell to be honest. We already signed our Boswell in Michael Parkhurst.

Next choice would be Bobby Boswell of DC United.
He is a quality, experienced CB. At 34, he should provide about 3 good years of leadership and good play on the backline. He could solidify the defense in the opening years until the next transition is made.
I really don't want to use the expansion draft to bring in anyone that's 34 years old.

Pretty sure Boswell is out of contract too. He had a club option for 2017 which apparently was declined. If that's the case, no one should consider him today. Go after him in free agency if you really want him. But agree, I'll pass.

I think Marc Burch from Colorado is also available. I would like him.

Impressive coverage. We've come a long way from a MLS logo and conference call speaker phone audio

Bunch of short defenders.

I think Atlanta will trade some of these players.

Most definitely. Irwin is interesting though. Could be an indiciation Guzan not in the plans. Could mean Irwin is the No. 2. Could mean he's trade bait.
Very curious to see where they go from here. Trade window back open and waves of free agency starting.

Irwin expects to stay in Toronto.

Guessing we keep Loyd and maybe Toia, who can play outside back. Irwin has to be trade bait. Kann and Ambrose? Could be dealt, could be end of the bench depth.

Possible trade for allocation order? Sounds like Greg Garza is coming to MLS.

Darren Eales telling MLS that there will be pre-arranged trades announced later today.

Ambrose and Irwin will both be traded. I think Atlanta is expected to keep the other 3, for now.

Kann is from Decatur apparently. Can be the number two. Loyd could easily start. Toia some depth.

I really don't understand selecting those players. Better ones where available. I suppose there are contract considerations and other things at play.
I suppose we send Irwin back to Toronto in exchange for some money? Perhaps he was selected to be used in a way of balancing the books in regards to the cap?

I'm shocked some of these guys were picked over others like Watts, McInerny, Magee, Husidic, Oduro.

An Irwin return to TFC isn't a sure thing. TFC working to get him back, but I'm told several teams trying to trade for him. ATL will make $$
