Apparently it's just that we are too good. Can't believe he's scared to compete with Torres, Ba, and Lukaku. Especially considering we would get rid of one of them if he came. I like Benteke but he obviously doesn't have the bottle.

Just pissing in the wind here so correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me he has an agent with a head on his shoulders who has looked at the recent pattern of strikers failing at Chelsea and they have decided it isn't a suitable place to continue his progression.

Plus he is probably friends with Lukaku, and everyone is aware how disappointed he was during his first spell at Chelsea. That probably rubbed off on Benteke a bit.

Torres = a pattern?

I guess you'll probably bring up Sturridge but there are a number of reasons he didn't produce at Chelsea that both he and the club have to take responsibility for.

Lukaku was like 17-18 when he came to Chelsea. He was never going to come in and play right away. Benteke is like 23 and reasonably proven on a big stage. Two situations are not really compatible imo.

The optimist in me likes to think he knows Lukaku is a badass and is the future of Chelsea Football Club. Drogba 2.0

It isn't a secret that strikers have struggled at Chelsea recently.

Torres comes in; has atrocious form.

After Torres' arrival, Drogba's form goes to complete shite.

Lukaku is brought in, doesn't play for a season, goes on loan and expresses his frustration at the club.

Sturridge scores more Premier League goals from a wide position than Drogba and Torres combined. Leaves the next season because he can't get a shot at the starting role even when healthy.

Demba Ba is brought in during the January window after scoring 13 league goals for Newcastle in the first half of the season. Proceeds to score a grand total of 2 goals the second half of the season for the Blues.

That pattern.

Wanyama to Southampton.

Schneiderlin has to be on his way out then, right? He is very good.

I wonder if that will help Soton in their chase for some of their other targets. they have been linked to some fairly solid names..wouldn't mind seeing ever banega in the EPL.

GD stands for something generally. it's also the initials for a player recently signed on a one year loan by Everton. the thing it normally stands for is a word you'd normally edit out...

oh god, anything but "hipster", in the horribly overused sense of the word.

what it really means is when you want to bash a player you don't like, but there's no rational reason or evidence to do so, you question their character.
