RvP shoved the referee and didn't get sent off. Christ.

Maybe the referee had a bad view of it.

Huge ban incoming, I'm sure.

Yep, yep, and yep.

So freaking dumb.

Yeah, for Williams. EPL is scared of SAF and he'll have some excuse about a Swansea player taking RvP's arm and pushed the ref. Total shite. Any other player on any other club would have been sent off.

Intentional or not? Are his eyes on the ball or RvP's noggin?

No one knows except for Williams.

ETA:If RvP wasn't diving, he wouldn't have been on the ground to get kicked.

I would lean 55/45 intentional.

Also, unless it is strictly forbidden to touch a ref for any reason whatsoever, I can't see RvP getting a red. Just replayed it, and he was just grabbing the ref's arm to plead his case. As if to say,"Hey ver is yoo goink, riferee?"

But, all in all, I could give a shite. United dropped two points to City today.

Personal opinion, though: Did it appear intentional to you?

Dear God, he wasn't diving. He got tangled up with Dyer and Williams. Go find another narrative to use.

I'm torn, it probably was. I would have done it on purpose, but I'm an a-hole.

This doesn´t bode well for the rest of the EPL. I f Manu is only going to get 98% of dodgey calls in their favor, then they´re going to start playing better to make up for it. Achtung baby.

Violent contact with another is grounds for sending off. I think we all can agree that it wasn't particularly violent.

Says nothing specifically in the laws about contact with a referee, but it's one of those unwritten rules that everyone knows you shouldn't do.

Reading on Twitter that Williams smiled the entire time during his interview post-match. Just beaming when asked about the kick...

I´m not positive it was intentional, but yeah, I´m sure he´s not too worried about it.

To be fair, Manu, while clearly the superior side, were going down very, very easily, the entire match.

that is a red card. you CANNOT touch him. Also, his getting up and tussling was yellow to orange, plus even a light tug on the official´s sleeve (which it wasn´t), and you´ve got a straight red.

Williams got what he deserved, IMO. The yellow is a safe call as you can't for sure know the intent. In no American sport could a player get away with contact on an official. If that is tolerated, I can only imagine the links players will go to for a refs attention. Not a good precedent to set.

Hey WSE, did you see Fergie say that Williams could have killed RvP with that?

when Randy was his other moniker, wasn´t Fat Frank his love interest, as opposed to Terry? I am right, aminotte? Didn´t he go on and on about his goal total, nevermind they were all penalty kicks?
