Paris restaurant for NYE

Posted by Stexas on 11/28/25 at 8:49 pm
We’re staying in an apartment in the 1st arrondissement (not far from the Louvre). I’d like to see about getting a table for our family of 4 (all adults). I’m not sure what to expect with taxis or Uber so assuming a walk would be necessary. I’m hoping to have something nice but not 2 star Michelin $400 per person nice. Hoping to book something ahead so we can plan.
Texas is going to step in and pay Kiffin and LSU will end up looking like it did with the Herman debacle.

Bee removal recs

Posted by Stexas on 11/17/25 at 8:54 am
We have a townhouse in BR that we've been fighting Bees in for a little while now. I've had someone out twice to remove them/prevent them from returning with no luck... Does anyone have local recommendations?

Massey pest control told me good luck with that.
5-11. Never liked him as a man, but was willing to give him a shot because he was a “Home run” hire.
I have two of my kids in a townhouse with shared walls in Baton Rouge. The HOA has a pest control contract that comes monthly to spot spray and handle outside stuff. I need a very knowledgeable and experienced pest control guy to come consult with me. I’d love to hire a small businessman and not just the big guy who has techs.

Troopers say Matthew Vincent, 37, of Vinton, unlawfully entered the crane around 5:30 a.m. while it was parked in a work zone near LA-108.

Detectives say he manipulated the boom over the westbound lanes, causing multiple vehicles to strike crane cables. Officials say at least four crashes occurred, leaving two people injured, damaging the crane, and forcing a lengthy interstate closure. Investigators say Vincent had earlier abandoned his truck in a nearby field before climbing into the crane. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on the following charges: One count of simple burglary
One count of aggravated obstruction of a highway
Two counts of negligent injuring
Five counts of hit-and-run driving
One count of criminal mischief
One count of a pedestrian on the interstate.

I had a college friend whose grandmother made a potato egg stew that had a thick roux gravy. Very simple dish but remember it being delicious. Any of y’all familiar with this?

Tigers will win tonight

We lost power about 20 minutes ago and the estimated time of restoration is 11pm.
I’m have a want for the OT to focus more on the topics that really matter instead of the Catholic Church and all of the papal stuff. I thought religion was a subject that was off limits?
Any recommendations for the best way to book? Looking at a holiday trip to Italy and returning from Paris. I'm a noob to this sort of travel so I'm not sure of the best way to book. I don't travel enough to have miles but I have an old delta skymiles account that exists from 20 years ago. Should I book directly with Delta or use a travel site like hopper or expedia? 4 of us traveling all family.

Have an older (15yrs) Kenmore Elite gas range that heats up to about 175F and holds it. Worked great yesterday during the day but whenever we turned it on to bake some cookies last night it just wouldn’t do its thing. Now I’m going to fight it before Christmas dinner…. Any advice?
There are no dominant teams out there this year. Sure, the Tigers are not beating teams they should but I think navigating the changes is having a bigger impact than coaching or talent.

If it’s not I’m an absolute a-hole and admit it but man, I don’t trust anyone anymore.

Cliffs: dude signs up yesterday and shares a feel good story about his autistic son getting a fed job doing archival work. I love the story and can only imagine the excitement and pride a dad would have in his situation. For the troll fast forward to Elon cutting fed jobs in February and he comes back to share his son now lost his job….

I’m probably just an a-hole.

Popular vote stats prove fraud in 2020

Somehow we're supposed to believe that the population of almost 4 Louisiana's stayed home during this election?

2016
Trump received 62,984,828
Clinton received 65,853,514
for a total of 128,838,369

2020
Biden received 81,283,501
Trump received 74,223,975
for a total of 155,507,476

2024
Trump so far has received 72,623,882
Harris so far has received 67,927,989
for a total of 140,551,871

You're telling me that 15 million (the equivalent of 7 or so cities the size of Houston, TX or an entire state larger in population that our 5th largest state , which by the way, gets 19 electoral votes) people didn't vote? I denied it because I wanted to believe that it couldn't happen here. I denied it because I'm naive and wanted to believe that this big of an effort couldn't be coordinated and run without leaks or cracks in their plan. I no longer deny it.

TLDR: Today I was red pilled.

Decaf Coffee options

Posted by Stexas on 8/6/24 at 10:05 am
In keeping with the theme that TD is getting older and older... I've recently been dealing with some health issues and it seems that my caffeine intake needs to be reduced somewhat.

I HATE THIS IDEA.

I'm not much of a soda drinker so that's not a huge deal but I absolutely love my Bunn drip Community Cafe Special. I bought a bag of their decaf and it's slightly OK. Don't hate it but surely there are better options if I need to limit my morning routine to 1 cup of normal. Any of y'all on the decaf train? I don't own a pod machine but I'm considering now because I don't want to tempt myself with a full pot if it's leaded.

Any recommendations or anyone want to commiserate or point their finger and laugh?

Needing to have a townhouse AC checked out. Any recommendations for someone who would be honest and willing to help my daughter out?

Ads with sound

Had a zoosk ad on mobile this morning that played some disco-ish music in the background while scrolling the OT. Not cool.
