Someone in the CIA must see some benefit to be had by continuing it. What that may be is beyond any one of us knowing as it certainly is a shitty relationship at the best.

I'm with siding with India. I can go there without getting my throat slit.

US and India have a big naval exercise coming up, FWIW.
That's a show of force to deter China, whose expansion into the Indian Ocean will be the strategic focal point of this century.

frick it. Take India's side. They're much more promising, and aren't bunch of treacherous fricks. If Pakistan invades India, we take the Indian's side and frick over Pakistan.
This is a complete 180 from an American point of view pre-1998. For a long time before and right after India did their nuclear tests in '98 it was well known that America was a Pakistan ally and India was closer to Russia owning to their military co-operation. What a difference 15 years of war on terror and two wars in hostile countries make. Supporting India is the right call. The Indian populace love Americans and the US in general.

I'm fine with cutting off all financial support of Pakistan, along with Israel, Egypt, etc.

We've been a pretty shitty ally with all the drones too y'know. It's not a one-sided problem.
I think you're right about needing to reassess our relationship with Pakistan and distance considerably. It'd be better for both parties.

India is our main import of intellectuals. What do we import from Pakistan?

He was in their version of West Point in a mansion doing highly suspicious behavior. Either accusation isn't good: They were either the stupidest mother frickers who have ever run an agency, or they knew who was living there.
Considering he never left the place, I don't see how you can say he was engaged in suspicious behavior. The biggest asset for someone on the lam is anonymity, and he wouldn't have been safe there if many people in the government knew where he was. You may not want to believe that he was hiding there, but facts don't change according to your ability to stomach them.
