Wasn't their a SCOTUS case on this issue. The argument was that the govt could not withhold and send unions the union dues. I do not recall the decision though.

They bargain against the taxpayers, like all public sector unions.
That is why they need to be abolished.
In the private sector the company owners and union members are risking their own money. In the public sector it is all other people's money and there is no personal risk.
