Otto is a selfish, 80-odd year old man.

The end for him is far closer than the beginning and he knows it. He’s going to die relatively soon, and there’s nothing he can do about it. They’re going to put him in a box, stick him in the ground and he’ll be forgotten.

Being a selfish old man, he wants to watch it all burn before he fades into nonexistence.

Trump’s average voter is significantly older than your typical young lefty. They aren’t going to take to the street, which is good. By the time this stuff gets to court, Trump will have been re-elected and can pardon himself, or he will lose and people can riot then if they’d like. If people riot now it will just look like January 6 was a coup attempt and that trump voters are unhinged and dangerous. Think of how much more support BLM had in the initial days after George Floyd’s death and how hated it was after riot footage from Portland, NY, and DC started making the rounds. A lot of normies care less about Trump than they do avoiding upheaval and violence
