Mike Pence will be the key this time. With everything painting trump in a bad light, it will be pence to come in and clean up for the Republican’s. I think honestly pence has had a much integral role in this administration and especially in the 2016 election than given credit for.
That being said, pence has no personality and is bland. Sometimes however, bland is effective. Nothing the lefties can attack.

I agree with you on the rest—but if you don’t think the left can/will attack a straight, white, Christian, Republican, male—then you haven’t been paying attention. Meaning, they will attack him, merely for what he is.

They will attack him for all of that and it will play POORLY. Blue hair, gender neutral, women's studies grad student isn't the target audience. It will be okay.
