Car lot off Siegen Ln had a bunch hit last night! This is still ongoing!

Imagine going to pick your car up after repair to find this!

$2500 is the replacement cost!

Who is accepting these catalytic converters or buying them from thieves?

Hell, they could have mine out of my truck and jeep. I paid a guy to take them off.

"Legally", of course.

When there is money to be made, there is always a fence ready.

Shady junkyards will wink wink and give you 50% of the usual price.

Passed a junkyard in N Lafayette the other day and they had a big hand painted sign out front: “We buy converters”

Why is this a thing? Not in BR and know some that were stolen. I replaced mine last year and the one I got is still available for $100 from Amazon and prime delivery.

Is this like toilet paper in 2020?

It's not anything new. Toyotas (specifically Tundras, Sequoias, and Prius') have been hit hard for a few years now. I installed skid plates from the front of my truck to past the catalytic converters. I don't plan on going over rocks, they're there purely to protect my cats. Tundras and Sequoias each have 4 cats.
