I understand, but he’s still a republican.
We need a third party. One not connected to decades of corruption and power and backdoor friendships and media driven propaganda, etc..
We also desperately need a return to paying attention to local and State politics. Look at the last governors election in Louisiana, we talked more about what federal candidates the governors candidates supported and which national party principles they held than we did about their actual plans and ties to the state. That’s insane. There’s absolutely no reason we should be voting for local politicians based on their federal government party affiliation.
I’d bet my left nut 90% of the country can’t name their state legislative reps.
America was founded on the idea of 50 states with their own local and state governments. There is a federal government for interstate disputes and National defense and foreign relations. The states are supposed to keep the federal government in check.
America in 2020 has a two party federal system that controls every single level of government. It’s dangerous and it’s incompatible with the founding principles of America. At some point we either have to redistribute the power from the feds back to the states or the feds will crush us below their feet.
Repealing the 17th amendment and a massive rejuvenating of local politics is a start.
