How do I know? Because at incomes above $1M/yr, with deduction scale backs and AMT preserved, folks will pay more tax, not less. E.g., sans AMT changes, we'll be paying more.
Now it's very possible Trump was talking economic growth, business opportunity and market performance. That's an environment where increased taxes are counterbalanced with even higher earnings. It's a win-win-win.
