And we raise the 'poverty level' every year.

The "percentage" of people in poverty will never change. Poverty is a moving target.

Outside of those with mental health issues or drug abuse, no one is starving or homeless.

The difference between our wealthiest and poorest is generally a matter of travel and leisure.

You don't understand what wealth inequality means.

ears ago, I read somewhere the income at the poverty level in the USA would be in the top 20-25% of worldwide income.

I think that's way to high. Obese poor people with cell phones, cars, AC, big screen TV's, and game systems is a uniquely US trait. In just about every other part of the world if you are poor, you are skinny. Obviously not an issue here.

That's because it's an ever goal-post moving Leftist buzzword that isn't based in reality.

Less than 100 years ago, this discrepancy could have meant starvation, being homeless, etc.

This. Speak with somebody who lived through the Depression. My Dad always says "people today don't know what poverty is."

The people who speak for 'the poor' don't know what poverty is.

Then explain it to us Big Guy.

I love the drive by "you don't understand" posts with no explanation.

Most folks in the upper 2 quintiles of earnings were in the lowest quintile as young folks.

Can you provide a source for this? I don't disagree with you but would love to have a study in my hip pocket to beat my leftist neighbors over the head with.
