The leaders in Ukraine need to ask themselves one simple question:
1. Can keeping our armed forces in active combat against Russia achieve anything favorable for Ukraine?
Right now, I’m not seeing much that would say it can.

They clearly believe this. They have said it explicitly in a Foreign Affairs article written a few days ago. You won't get that perspective in the dreck that John Barron posts, but there is a complete other side to the conflict which isn't reflected in the material curated so thoroughly by John.
Depending on who you follow, you can get completely different perspectives on the war.
