I listen to him on occasion. Sometimes, he picks the wrong battle. This was one of those times.

You might want to try rereading Rush's transcript.

Rush was saying Robin Williams killed himself because of a political leftist attitude.

You get an F in reading comprehension.

I had no idea until you pointed it out. That's lends one to believe the answer to your question is you.

This entire thread is pretty much a great example of how the left operates.

There are several posts on this thread by people that read the OP, took it to be true without looking into it and hit reply to post how terrible Rush was for what he said never having a clue that he didn't say it.

Sad.

Well I'm pretty sure when you're gone a lot of people will be asking themselves the same thing.

His biggest concern during the discussion was copycats and what leads to someone taking their lives. Anyone trying to find fault in what he said, wants to find fault in what he said. Stop trying to nit pick every damn word and look at the theme of the discussion.

Sorry, but I am going to side with Rex on this one. It is pretty clear by the gist of his comments he insinuated Robin Williams took his own life because of his Leftist world view. We can hem and haw all we want, but the quotes provided are damning. Just parsing words now.

Would like to see the entire transcript for further analysis. Cannot hear the audio at work (the link will not come up).

I won't care because I'll be dead. It's kind of sad for someone to mourn a person they've never met. Moreover, who gives a shite why he killed himself...he's dead.

I think you've got it backwards. He was pointing out similar faults between the left and the pessimism that leads to someone taking their life. It's not "he's suicidal because he's leftist."

I read the transcript. I got what he was saying. The problem is the time/context. On the one hand, you have to address topics in a timely manner (while the story is "hot"); however, considering the circumstances, and the extremely high likelihood of reaction/overreaction, this discussion could have waited a few more days.

No media, whether news or commentary, is going to wait days to discuss the topic. secondly a listener called in with a question about the media portrayal of the suicide.

It's his show. He has 100% control of content (with possible exception of "Open Line Friday"). He could have not taken the call, or taken the call and said "now is really not the time for this discussion."

Again, I am not faulting him for what he said because I understand the point he was trying to make. I fault him on his timing.

I'm disgusted by anybody who tries to politicize this fine man's tragic death. You included.

You may want to just shut your cock holster now before you end up pissing on your own grave. I don't have to know someone to feel a since of remorse, or compasion for someone who has brought many people, and myself joy for many years. I guess that's the ultimate difference between you and I. I am a human and you are a sheep.

I may have. But it does not look good in print. Again, I caveat, I have not had a chance to read the entire transcript or listen to the segment (I do not listen to RL - ever). What little I have seen is not good IMHO.
