This is pretty much what I think the scenario and the relationship between them has been for the last several years. Trump has made appearances with him and made fun of him to his face to the crowd, laughed as they boo'd Graham etc. Trump and Lindsay are not friends.

Trump needs him to help with the somewhat few moderates left in the Democrat party. LG has those relationships that Trump does not have
