Even if they did, they'd try to use the passage of time as a disqualifying factor in the fact that many of us saw what was coming down the track YEARS ago and have been waiting for these very seismic shifts in DC. It didn't happen on their own arbitrary timeline, so they go thermonuclear Veruca Salt on anyone exhibiting the patience to allow the process to play out however it must to reach the desired goal of seeing justice applied to all who have deserved it.

This is typically said when talking about someone on the left facing significant consequences, like jail time. Unfortunately it's been true more often than not.
And it will probably hold true for the future, but that doesn't mean that people can't be exposed, maybe voted out of office, maybe resign in shame, etc. It doesn't mean that they'll be able to pull the same shite going forward, and that's a win whether they get jail time or not. I'd love some prison sentences but getting rid of the money cancer is still pretty damned significant.
