National ID (long)

A National ID that is verified with fingerprints or retina scans could solve the background check problems. This ID could contain:

Your national drivers license

Social security benefits

Medicaid, medicare and welfare benefits

National concealed carry permit

Firearm purchase eligibility

Voter registration

Hunting permits

Citizenship status (that directly affects your firearm purchase eligibility, your benefits eligibility, your voting eligibility)

Legal status (conviction, arrest record that directly affects your firearm purchase eligibility and drug use/ addiction status that directly affects your benefits, driving priviliges, voting priviliges etc.)

Mental health status(competency diagnosis that directly affects your firearm purchase eligibility)

Car insurance status (that directly affects your driving eligibility)

Every issuing entity listed above could put existing records in the database easily.

I would go for this right now but it would not stop people who want to kill people from buying a gun from an individual that is selling illegally.

The only thing that will stop gun violence is the threat of gun violence in response. These lone wolf killers don't want to die in a pool of blood without having done any damage. What would be the point. Whatever this psychosis that drives these people to kill innocents is, it seems to need a spectacle or a slaughter to be satisfied. If they know that can't happen then they will move on to other targets that are gun free. If they can't acquire a gun they will mow down people with a truck, if they cant legally drive and rent a truck they will build a bomb out of a pressure cooker. If all weapons are denied them they will physically attack people unless they are removed from society.

National concealed carry(Arm the public- only competent individuals can acquire a permit due to the
National ID)

National ID gets the psychotic individuals off the street as well as drug users and criminals by restricting access to weapons, benefits, transportation, voting, etc.

Arming the teachers protects the students until we get the psychotic individuals off the street.

Arming the citizens protects the public and reduces violent crime.

Most will scream Big Brother, but I am willing to have a Big Brother watching if I am armed to resist if Big Brother abuses me and as long as my children and community are safe.

This also ends the debate on voter id, immigration status, benefits to drug users and many other issues that have been politicized to the point that they will never be fixed.
