This isn’t the 19th century anymore. You don’t need to physically be in DC almost all the time.

Additionally, too many Representatives live outside their districts. The current rules only say that the Representative has to live in the state, but not the district.

This is BS. Maxine Waters’s district is a war torn ghetto, but he she lives in the rich nice area of LA, which isn’t her constituency. Ann Kirkpatrick lives in one Dim district in Arizona and took McSally’s old district without even moving there.

There is no accountability. People don’t even live in the same area as their representatives.

Needs to change. If Dims want to use poor communities for votes, then they need to actually make those poor people their neighbors.

Why is that an unreasonable request to the downvoter or dems out there?

Because the Representatives in the districts for Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Inglewood, etc don’t want to actually call those places home.

I know that. But, shouldn't you live in the district you represent so you can assure that you're looking out for their own good by looking out for your own as well?

Well, to be fair and objective, you get to look at your district from a bird's eye view when you live outside the district.

Why call our Dems? Most republicans in Congress don’t want to live in their districts either.

Though I agree they should have to.

Why do you think the founders got this part of the constitution incorrect?

Voting was different then. shite, Virginia’s congressmen in the early days were all voted from an at large district.

I view this the same way as term limits. Both are good ideas on their own, but implementing on a national level would potentially set a precedent for elites making up new rules about who Americans can vote for. Ideally the average voter would do enough research to not keep voting for these idiots, though that seems like a losing battle.
