This is completely and utterly false. The area was occupied by the Khoisan peoples (albeit sparsely, because they were largely nomadic), though I suppose you could (disingenuously) argue that they were lighter of skin than the Bantu peoples to the northeast and thus not "Black."

Yes, most of the (now) country did NOT have a Bantu (Black) population at the time that Whites started settling, though this is NOT true of the entire country. There was a significant Bantu population in the east and (especially) northeast areas.
