Remember when McConnell, Cassidy and other fricking retarded Senate RINOs helped Joe pass the Infrastructure Bill?
Well, because they gave them the 60 votes for cloture to get it passed, it opened the door for the IRA to pass via Reconciliation (otherwise, the Dems were going to have to use reconciliation to pass the infrastructure bill).
So, when people point to no GOP votes in the House or Senate for the IRA, that's pure horseshite. They greased the skids for this (including the 87000 new IRS agents) earlier this year.

I just don't understand how any of this works. Why couldn't the Republicans filibustered the IRA to require 60 votes?

Certain "limited" fiscal legislation can be passed by simple majority without being subject to filibuster. But it's limited in the number of times a Congress can use it.

I don’t understand how that all works, but aren’t they only allowed to use reconciliation on a limited basis?

So let me get this straight: The Senate filibustered the infrastructure bill. Cassidy, et al, broke the filibuster which means the IRA could simply pass with a majority vote.

1 time a year you can bypass the 60 vote threshold by using reconciliation. Congress lady from Florida district 3 was on Wilcow explaining this.
Because this bill was passed into law in this manner. If the Republicans take over the House and Senate. They can defund the whole dang thing.

Only if Joe signs it.
Hint...he won't.

It would take very large balls to do this. The Republicans lack balls.

Don’t find them and they go away

Yes, but don't think Cassidy and Turtle didn't make a fortune stabbing us all in the back.

What's infuriating is that there were many here (myself included) screaming about this and that the GOP should force them to use reconciliation for infrastructure.
But THEY knew better and were SO proud it was SO much smaller than the Dems wanted.
Dumbasses

Hmm, cloture is in the panel so to speak, they only need majority there. Thanks n the senate vote if using reconciliation they would need 51.

And since reconciliation was used , after November this can go bye bye

I swear they plan all this shite out. It always works out this way. Always!! How many times could Turtle have shut the government down and forced the Dems to the table in the past?
