In fact, I would call it one good reason why Bush's presidency finished the way it did and that's because he refused to actually fight his enemies in the media and the left and just tried to skate on charm and likability which wasn't even worth shite.
Trump may be a loose cannon sometimes that needs to be more focused and disciplined but he's doing what Bush should've done and that is completely refusing to let his opponents set the narrative like Bush constantly let his opponents do.
