Sorry this is long. I see someone posted a thread on this topic - apologies. I'll let mods delete or just collapse my post into the other thread, whatever they want to do.

Just breaking on Fox Business - Biden has authorized Border Patrol to just start releasing people. No follow up at all. Assuming we get this treasonous man out of office in 2024, we now have magnified an already existing problem, of removing MILLIONS that are here illegally, that we don't track at all.

This will break the nation and end the United States if it's not fixed.

What could we do to boost the economy and standard of living in Central America (primarily) to convince people to not only abstain from coming north into the US, but to leave the US and go back south?

What can we do to secure a win-win, in your opinion?
How do we incentivize voluntary departure?

My ideas have been
taxing remittances,
obviously a complete lockdown,
EO on anchor babies,
safety corridor for businesses to establish (such as those relocating from China), payments for those that go back (bio data collected like retina scans and if they return they go to prison, that we can build right there at the border),
expanding the sea port on Mexico's west coast to provide jobs and make it easier for cheap goods to arrive in Central America,
and lastly, entertaining sending some crops grown in CA back to Mexico and paying farmers to use their equipment to create fire breaks and such so that state doesn't burn down each year, rather than farming.

FAIR estimates that we get about $32B each year from illegal aliens in revenue to the government. But it costs us about $188B/yr as a consequence of our southern border. We are losing roughly $150B/yr because of illegal immigration. We have threats to national security, disease, deaths of Americans, and people that are quite frankly invading our country. Oh and if there's another pandemic fiasco for the 2024 election, the vector is already established.

For less than $50B/yr, I estimate we can lock the border down completely - that's personnel, prisons, tent cities, 250k military personnel on the border, building obstacles and a wall etc.

For less than $50B/yr I'm sure there are economic stimuli we can employ to incentivize a departure. For example, it seems that to expand a sea port is less than $2B. Building a new one entirely is about $4B. If we could get 10M people each year to self-deport, within four years we are complete. Giving each person $3000 but in Mexican currency, is $30B/yr. Example, A family of 3 that self-deports will easily last for six months or more on that money so they can travel home and re-settle. We shouldn't have spend money like that, but it may be more efficient and economical in the long run, otherwise we just keep chasing people for years and years as they hide out in the US.

So, in four years we should begin seeing a savings of at least $100B/yr.

In the interim we completely cut off all aid that goes to illegal aliens within the interior. That will help offset costs.

We will probably spend at least $200B to clear the nation and secure the entire border. After that point, we should begin saving $100B or so each year going forward. These numbers are impossible to nail down precisely, of course.
