Jury Selection: I feel like I am watching a fricking TV Show

I don't really follow court cases and/or know much about how the court system works. However, I keep seeing shite all of the internet, on TV, etc with headlines like
"Meet Juror #X, he is a single father with purple hair and loves to hike and read books. His favorite TV shows are Morning Joe, The View and loves watching CNN"
IS THIS NORMAL?? - It's like a real version of "The People's Court"
"aaaaaaaaaaand, here is Juror #Z, she's a beautiful married mom of three, Juror #Z has 2 dogs and a cat and she enjoys baking cakes while listening to NPR on the radio. Her favorite TV shows are Rachel Maddow, The View and she looks forward every Saturday Night to watch Saturday Night Live. Juror #Z also loves picnics in the park and studies Liberal Arts"
I just don't ever remember in my entire lifetime hearing Jurors for any trial being talked about like this. Am I wrong for thinking this is just fricking weird? It's very bizarre to me.

Well, you haven't seen many former presidents be indicted on state level criminal charges and be tried for them, either.
So, there's that.
