t herd immunity happens without any other protective measures. Herd immunity with masks and social distancing is not herd immunity.

Right that is why I said it is population immunity we are benefiting from.

If it turns out after all of the analysis is done, that we got true herd immunity at 20 percent with no social distancing, masks etc. needed to open things fully and fill up stadiums then I will say you were right.

I haven’t seen data on that anywhere in the USA yet.

Still waiting for your links of all the scientists saying we get true herd immunity at 20 percent.

JBE staffer says masks will be mandatory for a good while. They believe masking has dropped the infection rate.

Many people believe that restrictions / masks have helped to slow the spread.

Removing restrictions / masks will simply allow the spread to increase.

Until we actually find another way to stop/slow the spread, or until we decide we are willing to leave with an increase spread, yeah, no changes are coming.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s always been this way. The lack of critical thought among such a seemingly large portion of the population..

The ability to say “hey, maybe there’s reality, which we have to deal with.... vs. some shite I’d like to believe and read on the internet somewhere.”

Echo chambers like this intensify the problem, certainly. Along with a trolling president but he’s more a symptom than the problem.

We have a significant part of the population that believe this virus will simply go away after Election Day.

We have another, different significant part of the population that believes more taxes and a higher minimum wage will result in better economic outcomes for everyone.

I think people have always been stupid, but they were able to keep the stupid thoughts to themselves, or at least, to a small circle around them.

A significant number of people in this country need to re-learn science, economics, and civics.
