Interesting theory about how Trump came to hire Bill Barr

Saw this on twitter and it makes sense

- Trumps lawyers realized Weissmann and Muellers interpretation of obstruction was bunk and basically any time trump talked negatively about the investigation would prolong the inquiry.

- Trump’s lawyers went to Rosenstein to try to get him to reign them in, but he balked

- so they then went looking for someone Rosenstein would trust and settled on Barr who was AG when he started at DOJ

- Barr agrees with Trump’s lawyers on the scope of obstruction and writes the now famous memo but it doesn’t change Rosenstein’s mind

- they realize then the only way to get this changed is a new AG Who’s not recused, so after the midterms, Sessions is canned

- then they realize Barr would be easy to confirm and has immense credibility and he could land the plane safely

- Barr is confirmed and a few weeks later it’s over and the obstruction issue is settled by Barr.
