Put 1700 a month in your own fund, that's 20,400 a year. Stay healthy for 5 years you have $102,000 in your fund plus growth. Buy some very cheap catastrophic health insurance plan for a major event like over $100,000 deductible and after 5 years you would be very well covered. If you put the money in a Vanguard fund S&P 500 in 10 years you'd probably have well over $300k.

S corp owner here. Married, 3 girls, bcbs from 2000. Was about same, $700/mth. As the girls came off over the years premium still went up and was $1800 by end of 2020. Grandfathered so ACA had no affect (right). Wife passed 2/21 and my premium went down to $1200. Fast fwd i started medicare last sept, medicare premium is roughly $400- have to pay the extra because of income- for part b and d. Got an enhanced advvantage plan and that’s $1990/yr in addition. Had my appendix out 12/2023 and cost me oop $2400 under bcbs. Had my gallbladder removed this May, cost $200.00. Both surgeries billed insurance over $58k.
