Immediately after Clinton was impeached his popularity/approval rose to 76%. Plus the Senate did not convict him. He served out his term, ending with around 60% popularity/approval. Just saying...

Most of the black people I know were so happy that he was getting a piece on the side, they were saying stuff like, WOW, he really is the first black president". Heck, he had just started rolling back welfare, too. Once they found out he was a piece of shite, they seemed to relate to him....It was weird watching....

Really? So you guys are now going to pretend like you haven't been calling for Obama's impeachment for at least the entirety of his second term?

Really?

And its the Dems that take people for idiots?

Do you actually believe yourself when you talk?

The republicans may very well be more successful if they promise to impeach him if they get control of the Senate based on the polling among independents and democrats I have been seeing recently.

Gallup had Clinton's highest ever at 73%, which was in fact right after he was impeached. But it was at 66% 2 weeks before he was impeached, and at 65% in the days before he went on national television and admitted he had lied about good ol' Monica. It dropped down to 62% right after his confession, but was back up to 66% just 3 weeks later. In other words, Clinton was riding a wave both before and after the entire Lewinsky thing even surfaced, unlike the current president's situation.

That said, I'm entirely against any Republican even saying the word impeachment. It's a lose-lose proposition for them. In fact, lately I have heard more Dems and MSNBC and CNN hosts say the word far more often than Republicans. And that's not just happenstance ...

You do realize you need 2/3 of the Senate, right? Fat fricking chance.

Ok. Let me make sure I got this right.

There are, on average, two to three threads a week about impeaching Obama on this board.

Apparently this was all a trick by Democrats confusing Republicans to galvanize the black vote.

But since they knew that's what you would try, and the GOP knew they already knew it was an attempt to spark the base, the impeachment talk was in no way stoking the base.

However, the Dems, who are lot smarter, more calculating, and just plain better politicians then the R's, (that's essentially what the OP is admitting) is using this Reverse-psychology-wormhole-of-circular-logic-jackass-foolery by the R's, to get out the black vote.

Republicans should not say or request something that has zero merit and is baseless as far as accusations.

Show me an R that has called for the president's impeachment, and I'll show you an R that also thinks the president was born in Kenya
