re: If Trump didn’t order the troop buildup in DC...

The Secretary of the Army has authorized up to 25,000 National Guard troops in the Capitol region to support security surrounding the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 20 -- a force far larger than the number of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

The National Guard announced the increase in authorized force levels from Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy Friday afternoon, less than a week out from the inauguration. The number of Guard troops authorized for Washington, D.C. has increased by leaps and bounds in recent days. Before McCarthy's announcement Friday, the count stood at about 21,000, up from 15,000 and an earlier 6,000.

You got me confused with someone else, kid. I didn't vote, and I haven't voted in decades. (see my post history) I have basically pulled for Orange though, and I appreciate what he has done.... now he needs to close the deal.

Go back to the drawing board, you picked the wrong person for your joke.

As for me, I run the Office of the President Elect.

Someone on here posted it a few days ago. Trump is the only one who can order NG to DC and FEMA is in charge.

Who did?

F.E.M.A.

Everyone wants to know why Sidney Powell is freaking out? Trump didn't order this. He has already stepped aside.

If someone recommended this to Trump and Trump said okay, I don't have a problem with it.

It makes Biden look like the dementia-ridden tin pot dictator that he is. Give liberals a taste of having to show ID and prove to the military that you belong downtown DC because you work there.

Papers please!!

It's all on Biden, lol. Not Trump.

Pelosi asked the pentagon and they cut orders.

Deployment pay to just hang out at the capital.

Agencies requested support and the support was authorized. While this doesn’t fit with some folks’ wet dream, this is common for NSSEs. This is larger for sure given Trump’s inauguration included about 8,000 troops in support of the DC police dept, Capitol Police, Park Service and Secret Service.

Also, FEMA did not order this nor is FEMA in charge.

This is larger for sure

There’s as many troops in DC as there is the entire Korean Peninsuala. Roughly 25k.

For comparison, Operation Phantom Fury in Iraq that seized Fallujah used a force of 11,000. Yes, it’s a very LARGE force in DC right now.

Well, honestly, Biden is a bigger threat than Kim Jung Un.

This link says they were authorized by the Army Secretary and under the control of 2-star general of the DC guard. And some will be armed depending on how close to the building they are.

quote:

"They are under the command and control of Maj. Gen. William Walker, the Commanding General of the D.C. National Guard, and are providing security, communications, logistics and coordination with all supported agencies." Guard

quote:

Officials said the number of Guard troops who will be carrying firearms will likely be limited, and some Guard members near the Capitol are equipped with long guns while others will carry sidearms. Troops closest to crowds or near the fences recently erected around the Capitol likely won't be armed but those closer to the building may be.
