I get what you're saying and agree in principle but without the government all you have is a piece of paper with numbers written on it that isn't backed by anything. Without the US government what could you buy with your piece of paper? I could take a piece of construction paper and write 20 in the corners and it would be worth the exact same thing

Just try getting your countries corporations to innovate if you don't have a governmental body protecting patents and copyrights.
Try hiring and firing without civil law.

The Rule of Law and equal protection under the law are the foundation of our success. This is achieved with limitations on government, not government management.
You are basically arguing that the US has simply had better managers in government, and has been successful as a result.
