I don’t know that a single tariff was implemented until very recently. Inflation will never be zero or much less than 2% due to rising debt and interest payments that we simply do not have. If you are expecting anyone to implement policies that will create anything resembling 1-1.5% inflation over an extended period of time then you are fooling yourself. It will never happen barring massive decreases in government debt and government spending. We are at an inflection point as a nation economically if major changes aren’t implemented.
