The 10 or so southern states should ve as red as the 10 or so NEast states are blue. The voting %s aren't that different.

It will hopefully pay off bigly in the long term.

SC, as well as most Southern states, is growing in leaps and bounds.

When the 2030 Census rolls around we should pick up a couple more seats as northerners lose seats due to the exodus from there ... and California.

All told it could mean a 24 seat swing -12/+12 in the upcoming midterms and through the 2030 midterms, and perhaps as many as 40 in the 2032 General.

Putting Charleston with the Grand Strand counties is going to ruffle some feathers in the General Assembly. No love there at all between those 2 areas.

How so?

I’m not convinced these new districts are as solid red as everyone here (most of whom don’t live in the state and have never been there).

For example, District 2 picks up Columbia and most of the black counties. How does what is already there easily overcome those votes? The new district in the PeeDee is the same way.

I have looked at the numbers for each existing district. You split up Clyburn’s area and on first blush it does seem to dilute the Republican vote significantly for those districts.

I hope Trump told McMaster that he'll only get the endorsement, of the lady he wants, if he gets the redistricting done done, not just calling for it.
