Friday flashback - Election 2000

The wife and I watched a special last night entitled 537. It was about the hanging chad fiasco. That didn't cost Gore the election. Bill Clinton and Janet Reno did when they ordered immigration officials to take Elian Gongalez from his family members and return him to Cuba. Said the law was the law. The American-Cuba community got really pissed over that and revenge voted against Clinton's VP Al Gore. The mayor of Miami, Cuban-American, was eviscerated by his own kind because he didn't step in and put up a fight to the federal government about Elian being taken by the feds. Florida would definitely had gone for Gore except for the Elian fiasco.

Bill Clinton gave us eight years of Bush, Jr. Take that for what it is worth.
