Depending on how honest you want to be about it, pick from the following -
1. We are distracted and don't notice the country we grew up in burning down around us.
2. We are naive and think buying more ammo and voting in November is all that's needed to beat this BS back.
3. We are fat, happy and a little pussified.
4. We aren't as smart as we think we are, and in fact are too easily manipulated by the other side.
Without being overly critical (I'm one of "us"), I think all four are reality to some degree.
