For Primaries: ranked choice voting

Article on Maine
With Maine moving to ranked choice voting for their primaries, I was wondering what people would think of it happened in their state.
If you’re familiar with heisman voting, it’s a similar concept. You’d choose your 1st-5th(ish) favorite candidates and they would receive points that increase with position. The point of runoff elections is to allow people who haven’t had a chance to vote on the candidates still available because you would already be voting as if it was a runoff with your ranked votes. This also comes in very handy in situations like the GOP had in 2016 and for what seems like is happening on the Dem side for 2020.

Everything should be a jungle primary like Louisiana has. Dilutes the importance of party, you vote for the candidate you want. No one gets 50%, you vote in a runoff.

I am not a fan of this because voters are idiots, and asking them to vote for one person is asking too much of them.

And you could end up with two Republicans running or two Democrats, right?

Would be open to it if it works out in Maine. I could see one benefit being a lesser likelihood of an underdog candidate pushing another candidate into the race solely for the purpose of siphoning off votes from the favorite.

And nothing. Just sort of asking a question, I guess.
Basically, you just have everyone who wants to run for Senator... run for Senator. May the best man win.
