No blame for the 2nd district US reps? Benny Thompson since 1993? Oh... yea... and it was Mike Espy from 87 to 93. How has the delta region improved under their representation? Take out the 2nd congressional district and Mississippi greatly improves in ALL of those rankings.
Republicans have only ran the legislature since 2011. It took a while for the state to suffer under democrat leadership. Let’s try longer than just 7 years vs from the civil war to 2011.

It’s an uncomfortable truth, but we all know these stats are not because of republican or democratic leadership, but the 1 million or so people living in the delta. When a particular demo is factored out, all those stats become either middling or above average. It’s also a good proof as to why importing slaves from the southern border to pick our crops is a disastrous idea.

I haven't thought of it like that but its a good analogy. First generation will likely work and hold jobs. Second gen won't be quite as motivated as first. By third most will be on welfare and idiots will want to import more poor people because they'll do "the jobs americans don't want to do".

And this is why I was unimpressed with the Pete Davidson SNL mea-culpa moment.
The Left want to stop the divisive behavior when THEIR head is on the chopping block, but won't hesitate to ruin Conservatives over an innocent comment.
