What are you basing that on?

Does it bother you that few really know why you fly them? Do you like the colors? the snakes? the words? What does "don't thread on me" mean??

What is the basis of your curiosity? Do you really know?
What does it mean?

What am I basing that on? Perhaps the inability of any poster here to articulate what it means.

Why would ask if I knew?? Should people not know? What is the point of a flag if no one knows what it means?

Does it mean "I like yellow and black flags" or something more important?

This is what the flag means to me: the snake is a metaphor for the self-reliant Anglo-American spirit. It's just relaxing being a snake, but if you tread on it (i.e. if you try to frick with him in his house) it will fricking kill you.

Don't tread on me. Geesh. snake. don't step there.

I have several centuries of kin buried in the cemetery next to the hill top where the Culpeper Minutemen formed up.

It's not a question that comes up very much.

Again..what is the basis of your curiosity..it seems odd.

That wasn't the question. The question was what motivates your curiosity? It seems an odd fixation. As to your claim that no one knows why they fly the flag or what it means seems disingenuous at best. "Don't Tread On Me" is obviously a nod to states rights and the rights of the individual. This actually confused you??

Where did your imagination lead you? What is your overall sense of why those people fly the flag.
If you're going to play dumb, you're not a serious person imo.

Just driving down the road today and a guy a pole up in the center of his front yard with the Gadsden flag flying.

Guy spent the money and time to erect a pole to fly the flag. Thought that was rather strange. I see people all the time with stickers of the flag on their vehicles and was curious as to just what prompts folks to do that and what do they actually think the message is.

I have not a clue what the message of flying a 240 year old flag of revolutionaries means in 2017 America.

You obviously cannot articulate what it means.

It means nothing to me and when I see people displaying it I do not understand the statement they are making.

There are few white trash folks in house trailers down the road that has the Gadsden flag, the Stars and Bars and the Mississippi State flag displayed in various location on their trailers and property.

Yeah ... me.

Why?

Because frick anyone who questions why.

If you don't know why already ... you never will. And if you think you know why and it's not the right answer, no one could explain it to you.
