There is nothing so insignificant as a Congressional hearing. It decides nothing, changes nothing, and is just one gigantic commercial for the congressmen themselves. In both parties. Somehow we’ve gotten to the point where instead of debating actual legislation - Congress just yells at the “witness” who is the advocate for the opposing party with speeches that end in a lilting uptick at the end demanding yes or no. Or such enthralling and pointed questions as - “do you think you are going to hell?” The only Congressional hearings that should exist should center around actual, proposed legislation.

If I were to demand any kind of rule change as the benevolent dictator of Congress (House and Senate) it would expressly state that hearings must relate to an actual piece of proposed / pending legislation, presenting witnesses advocating the pros and cons.

These assholes are gonna vote how they want to - but it will save petty fights like “Trump wants poor children to starve, and for everyone to have high health insurance bc it’ says it in the name od the act.”

Congress CANNOT CHARGE PEOPLE WITH CRIMES - so why the actual f/ck are they investigating crimes.

I’m fine if it’s nominees or impeachment
, but “legislative purpose” is too vague

(In before “will never happen.” Your assignment is to determine whether this may actually result in more actual bills getting passed and less backroom deals about what is getting paid for. I would LOVE to see CBO actually testify about why we need to spend a billion dollars on homosexual seafood and distribution of condoms in Balgladesh).

Soundbites for fund raising. It's all theater. They are all worthless actors laundering our taxes.

Prior to Trump winning, I had the opinion that anything we tbe people see in Congress is nothing more than a political soap opera. After Trump won, I foolishly believed we'd see Republicans rally behind him....
My hope has met with reality. The reality that it's all a soap opera, a smoke show.
If we the people don't vote for better congressional representation... there remains only one method for tax paying Americans to resist.....
