Cohen facing possible tax & bank fraud charges surrounding taxi medallions

Allegedly misrepresented assets (income from taxi medallions) to acquire loans from 2 NY banks.
Then, allegedly hid income from the medallions to avoid paying taxes/debts. They busted one of his partners the "Taxi King of New York" for a similar scheme and he copped a plea to testify against Cohen.
If Cohen can't finalize a plea, charges should get pushed to after the midterms, otherwise expected late August.
This
seems like more big government sanctioned graft and extortion. Unfortunately a guppy got caught in a big fish's game.

Taxi medallions are an example of government-sanctioned monopolies that end up harming consumers who are forced to pay higher prices.

Sounds like the same thing millions of people and banks did during the runup to the housing crash.
No doc mortgages were all the rage in 2005-2008.
Remind me how many people went to jail over that?

The NYT piece laying out the government case against him even admitted that it was exceedingly rare to charge someone with bank fraud on a loan where they never missed a payment and the bank took no loss, but they're putting the screws to him to get him to "cooperate" with the Mueller investigation.
There was a bunch of Stormy Daniels stuff in too, but I know no one gives a shite about that stuff.
