Matt Stoller is a good read on monopolies and market power.

As one judge wrote, “Today, § 230 rides in to rescue corporations from virtually any claim loosely related to content posted by a third party, no matter the cause of action and whatever the provider’s actions.” There’s a shape-shifting element here as well. When corporations want to avoid being regulated, they call what they do speech and claim First Amendment rights. But when someone tries to hold them liable for defamation or unlawful speech, they claim they are mere vessels for others, and thus immune under Section 230. This dynamic creates what one court called “a lawless no-man’s-land.”

One of the biggest legal frickups were those cases against Trump blocking journos that tried to make online spaces the same as the "public square"
Also, it will be interesting to see how people react to this case in light of the Pavel Durov arrest/indictment for similar allegations.
It's a tricky thing to balance forcing editorializing these spaces and giving vicarious responsibility to the owners who didn't directly participate in the bad acts.

Why should you me or any business be responsible for what others post online?
I have an idea. Personal responsibilty.

You should read the article.
If your algorithm takes personal characteristics about me, goes and searches for the content posted by others that in your judgment would interest me and hold me on your platform longer, grabs it, and delivers it to me, how are you not a distributor of others’ content rather than a neutral host of it?
