Biden ahead because he is the “generic Democrat” candidate?

Could Biden be up, apart from the polls being skewed and COVID/riots, because his candidacy is viewed by many as a generic democrat candidacy and not a Joe Biden candidacy? It’s been apparent that his VP could take over months after the election and at this point that VP is a just a generic Democrat woman.
And generic candidates typically out perform in polling at least because there are no negatives to assign to the placeholder “candidate”. Contrast this situation with Hillary who was a known commodity and had high negatives. One could argue Biden also has many negatives (known liar; corrupt; declining mental state) but maybe these are being overlooked due to the unique nature of this campaign.
In other words, as of now Trump may be losing to a generic placeholder, not a dementia patient.

Look, Biden is ahead because he stopped doing rally's, and only taking pre-planned questions, with a written answer. He has had limited exposure.
On the other hand Trump is dealing with a Corona economy, constant bashing, manufactured riots and protests, deep state, etc.
The focus today is on today's events, but as the election draws near it will focus again on the economy, and other issues that Trump is polling much better than Biden in.
This is too early to worry. The biggest concern should be the fraud which is about to happen nation wide with "mail-in ballots"

Biden is ahead because he is sitting back and watching Trump self-destruct and hemorrhage supporters on a daily basis.
